Silly Spaghetti-Dogs

Silly Spaghetti Dogs

This is probably one of the weirdest foods I've ever made.
I saw a picture on pintrest.com but have no credit for the idea...I just figured out how it was done & gave it a fitting name.
Not that it was hard.
When I saw it, my initial reaction was "Ewww..." But that soon turned into, "Hmmm....my boys would LOVE that!" Then I giggled a little over the thought of it & put hot-dogs on my grocery list.

Here's how we did it...
although you've probably figured it out already :)

Slice up the hot-dogs & break the spagetti in half

Push the spaghetti through the hot dogs...
...Caleb had the idea to make some look like Octopus
by adding 8 noodles & not pushing them all the way through...
That was pretty clever & oh so smart!

Next, boil according to spaghetti package instructions.
Ours was thin spaghetti & said to boil for 6-9 minutes.

The rest is...well...interesting...
Taste was good, but definitely odd to look at.
Don't they make you giggle too?
They gobbled them up along with every bite of their veggies!
And I was waiting for them ask for sauce or ketchup, but they never did!

If any of you try this, you have to let me know!
I realize that hot-dogs aren't the most nutritious food...which is why I rarely buy them, but these were fun to make & interesting to eat. Definitely SILLY to say the least!

I'm partying here today...

  2. I bet you could use turkey keilbasa in place of the hot dog - that might up the nutritional value a smidge? ;) SO fun Julie - and, what a great way to feed a picky eater in a child, if you have a child that will only eat hot dogs! so crafty! :) how cute!!!

    <3 you!!!!!

  4. Whoa! My kids would go nuts over this! The funny part is, it took me at least a whole minute to figure out (without scrolling down) how you got the spaghetti in there. :-D
