Pinned it & Did It - Blueberries and Cream Pie

Pinterest rocks my Kitchen!  I also love to create all the wonderful food and crafts I pin!  I always wonder when I get started how it will really go... Honestly I've had more 'failed' craft projects from pinterest than 'yippee I did and I love it' projects.  Food projects however never seem to fail me ;-)

Ode to my Pinned Pie  - this recipe ROCKS (I'll be honest I'm not a pie fan or much of a blueberry fan, but this is one I will make again!)

Pic of my pie:

It was scrumptious!!  I'm non a pie crust fan (even though this recipe is super easy and flaky).  Next time I think I'll make it with a gingersnap or graham cracker crust in a 9x13 pan.  If you try it before I do let me know what you think!!

Check out the recipe on the blog Gingerbread Bagels!!

Sneak Peek...

It might seem like our blog has been a bit idle lately
but it's all for good reasons!
My hands have been busy busy busy!!
Here's a little taste of what has been keeping me busy - aside from our family vacation to COLORADO SPRINGS & the regular friend & family fun that we CAN'T STOP having!

My friend asked me to make some things for her baby girl's nursery! I was so excited to jump back into sewing & also help my friend create her (2nd) dream nursery! She told me what she wanted & I went to work!
Now it's TWO weeks till 'it's time!'  There's more to be done, so this is just a sneak peek at what has been made sofar...

The gray, the pink, the ruffles, the bows, the damask print
It's all so beautiful & feminine.

...and I wanted to include the little inspiration for this nursery :)
Isn't she cute?!

More to come...

Love,
Julie

Sister See Sister Do's Bottle of Summer...to go!

HAPPY 4TH OF JULY!!!

Today we want to share a very simple idea.
It might make your summer a little easier & a lot more fun!
It's a BOTTLE OF SUMMER - to go!!

Michelle is a working mom of two sweet little girls (11 & 7) & Julie is a stay at home mommy of three little monkeys...aka BOYS (5, 3 & 2)!! We both load our summers with one adventure after the next. If you are like us and are always on the go, you will LOVE this idea! It's GREAT for trips to the pool, the zoo, the park, the airport...Wherever there's a drinking fountain & wherever your children will be wanting a simple snack.

What we did was took reusable water bottles & stuffed them with whatever we wanted our kids to have at the pool that day. We really like the apple sauce squeezies (no spoon required), peanut butter crackers, granola bars, laffy taffy, fun dip! You get the idea. We also stuck in some water-flavoring singles (like Kool Aide) to get them drinkin'.

Needless to say, our kids think it's GREAT!!
They have a snack to keep their bellies happy
& they fill their water bottles up to stay hydrated.

That's it!!
Simple and fun...because that's how we roll!!!

CHECK OUT OUR BUSY KIDS WEEK POSTS FOR MORE FUN IDEAS!

We LOVE making new friends and seeing the projects/ideas of others! So if you drop by, please let us know where we can check YOU out too!!

Busy Kids Week! Day 5 - Window Painting!

Busy Kids Week
Day 5
(We apologize this post is a few days late...  We are happy to report both Sister's finally have power back after the storm that hit Ohio last week)

Window Painting!
The mess free way!

Looks like fun, doesn't it?!

...A baggie with paint in it & taped to the window.
Simple. Clean. Fun.

One day, I whipped this up & got it ready while my boys were napping. When they woke up they immediately spotted this new adventure taped to the windows.

They looked, they touched, they played!

They mixed the colors, traced design, letters & shapes with their fingers.
They spent quite a while playing with the window paints!

It was fun to have the light shining through them from the outside so they could see their artwork!

So tell us what do YOU do to keep your kids creative and busy?  We'd love to hear your ideas - who knows they may even be featured during our next 'Busy Kids Week'!

Have a Safe and Happy 4th of July!
