Small Ruffled Tote

Here she is! My Saturday night project!
I have an awful problem...I make a lot of things and don't finish them....a lot of things. So this tote that you're looking at is quite an accomplishment. I started it AND finished it in one evening!

This here is how the project was inspired. If you want to make a sewer/crafter VERY happy, send her a box of fun fabrics for Christmas! One of my bestie-best-best friends (ASHLEY) sent me this box of fabric...along with a cute mug & hot cocoa :) Isn't that THE BEST?!? I've made some little things here & there with the fabric, but this is the first REAL project I've COMPLETED.

It's so girly - I'm totally diggin it!
I kept it simple - no pockets inside or snap - might regret not adding the snap.
I'm loving those tattered ruffles!
Let's talk about my new girl, shall we? I hit a few bumps in the road since the tote was kinda-sorta an experiment but it turned out pretty nice. The inside was supposed to be the outside & the the straps & ruffle were supposed to be the opposite fabric, but I kept truckin & went with it! I've been trying to come up with my own tote - one that's not from a pattern or someone elses tutorial & it seems like when I've tried, the straps are too long or the bag is too wide & not tall enough or vice versa. SO I think I hit the spot! I added the ruffle on a whim - and I'm glad I did. It's pretty & it's perfect!

What do you think?!
